Beebole Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Beebole s.r.l. (“Beebole”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website (beebole.com, including the help documentation at beebole.com/help) and within the Beebole applications (the legacy application at beebole-apps.com and the new application at app.beebole.com). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website or use a web application. A first-party cookie is set by the site you are visiting; a third-party cookie is set by a different domain. “Cookies” in this policy also covers similar technologies such as local storage and pixels where used. Cookies may be session (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent (kept for a defined period).
2. Your consent and how we ask for it
When you first visit our websites or application, we present a consent banner. We distinguish between two groups:
Strictly necessary (essential) cookies — set automatically because the service cannot function without them. These do not require your consent.
Non-essential cookies and trackers (for example, product analytics) — set only after you have given prior opt-in consent, and only for the categories you accept.
The banner lets you accept all, reject all, or choose by category. Rejecting non-essential categories is as easy as accepting them, and no pre-ticked boxes are used. Until you make a choice, no non-essential cookie or tracker is placed.
Withdrawing or changing your consent
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time, with effect for the future, via the “Cookie settings” link available [location to be confirmed on publication — e.g., website footer and in-app settings]. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. You may also delete cookies through your browser settings (see Section 7).
3. Categories of cookies we use
3.1 Strictly necessary — Security (essential, first-party)
We set first-party security cookies that are required to operate the Beebole application securely, including keeping you logged in. Blocking these cookies means you cannot stay logged in or use core functionality. These are essential and are not subject to consent.
3.2 Strictly necessary — Intercom messenger (in-app)
Within the Beebole application, we use the Intercom messenger to provide in-product support and notifications. For logged-in administrators, this involves the administrator’s name and email address so we can identify and assist you. This is essential to delivering the in-app support service and is treated as strictly necessary.
3.3 Intercom messenger (on our websites)
On our public websites, the Intercom messenger operates anonymously unless you provide your email address (for example, to start a conversation or request a reply). If you do not provide an email address, no personal identifier is associated with the messenger.
3.4 Analytics — PostHog (consent required on our websites)
We use PostHog (EU-hosted) for analytics to understand how our product and websites are used and to improve them. On our public/commercial websites, PostHog analytics cookies/trackers are non-essential and are set only after you have given prior consent to the analytics category via the cookie banner. Until you consent, no PostHog analytics tracker is placed on our websites. This Cookie Policy governs that website analytics.
In-app product analytics (signed-in users) is separate and is not governed by this Cookie Policy or the website cookie banner. For users signed in to the Beebole application, PostHog provides first-party product analytics on a legitimate-interest legal basis for operational and product-improvement purposes. That in-app processing is described in, and governed by, our Privacy Policy — not by the website cookie banner.
PostHog session replay is not enabled. We use PostHog for analytics only; we do not record or replay your sessions on the websites or in the application.
4. Technologies we do not use
We do not use web beacons, Flash cookies, or Local Shared Objects (LSOs).
5. Targeted advertising
We do not serve targeted advertising, and we do not use cookies or trackers to build advertising profiles or to share data with advertising networks.
6. Third-party processors
The non-essential and essential third-party technologies referenced above are operated by sub-processors that act under contract with us. The processors relevant to the cookies and trackers described in this policy are:
Intercom (EU) — in-app and website support messenger.
PostHog (EU-hosted) — analytics (website analytics under this policy; in-app product analytics under the Privacy Policy); session replay not enabled.
A full list of Beebole’s sub-processors — including those that process Customer Data and our website/visitor-data processors — is maintained in our Sub-processor List, which is consistent with the processors named here.
7. Managing cookies in your browser
In addition to our cookie settings, most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent core functionality (including staying logged in) from working. Browser controls operate on a per-browser, per-device basis.
8. Updates to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version with a new effective date and, where required, ask for renewed consent.
