## A story that started
with a simple idea
Beebole began in 2008 when co-founders Yves and Mic - with extensive experience in enterprise software development and Fortune 500 consulting - grew frustrated with cumbersome timesheets and reports that obscured more than they revealed. What started as a simple idea, to make time data flexible and intuitive, became a tool trusted by teams around the world. Over the years, we’ve stayed true to that vision: make project time tracking accessible to every business, big or small, while evolving with real customer needs.

In 2008, almost all time tracking tools were too costly and targeted large corporations. So we worked hard to create a product that was straightforward and affordable enough to match companies of all sizes and, in turn, needs. Of course there are more timesheet apps available today, but Beebole is still a leader in simplicity, flexibility, and support.

- 2008 - The Founding Bet
Two founders from the SAP enterprise world, with a thesis: the timesheet quality delivered to Fortune 500 employees could be brought to SMBs, where SaaS was still nascent. Bootstrapped from Brussels - a deliberate choice for long-term control over the product.
- 2009 - Version One
A simple timesheet for recording hours and reporting on them. No billing, no costs, no budgets - just time. First paying customers were small IT-sector SMBs, exactly the audience the product was built for.
- 2010 - Google Ecosystem
First integration: Google APIs for charts, followed by deep Google Workspace integration - SSO, exports to Drive and Sheets, project documents linked from Drive. At peak, around 30% of new signups arrived through the Workspace marketplace. An invitation to Google's San Francisco campus marked the company's first major industry recognition.
- 2013 - Platform Expansion
Five years of customer feedback and product vision turned into a major release. Billing, costs, and budgets joined the timesheet - the start of the shift from a time-recording tool to a project financial platform.
- 2015 - 500 Customers, Global by Default
500 active customers across the US, UK, and Europe. Strongest adoption in IT, professional services, architecture, consulting, and law - industries where billable time is the business. Global reach driven by SEO and marketplace presence, not geographic strategy.
- 2017 - Mobile Shift
A progressive web app - installable from the browser, no app store dependency. The shift opened the door to new customer profiles: construction firms and other field-based teams logging time from a job site.
- 2018 - €1M and Ten Years
Ten years of bootstrapped growth, with €1M in annual revenue and most contemporaries gone. A milestone less about the number than the durability behind it.
- 2020 - 1,000 Companies
1,000 customers, reached in a year when most software buying froze. Growth slowed; it did not stop. A strong cash position carried the company through without disruption to the team or the roadmap.
- 2022 - Strongest Year on Record
Nearly 20% growth - the strongest year to that point. The result: the team and the runway to commit to the next 15 years and begin a complete platform rebuild.
- 2023 - The "New Beebole" Vision
Fifteen years on the same technical foundation - an eternity by software standards, and proof that the original architecture choices held. Even so, the time had come for new interface standards and a modern stack. The decision to rebuild was collective, driven by signals from every side of the business.
- 2024 - Heads Down
Three years of design, engineering, and architectural work. A full TypeScript rewrite, a migration to Google Cloud, EU/US data residency, and ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certification work underway.
- 2026 - The Next Beebole
A platform built for the next decade - modern foundations, shaped by 18 years of product learnings, ready for the AI era. Familiar where it should be, fresh where it counts.
